Recently we had the privilege of hosting the incredible Drupal community right in our own backyard for DrupalSouth. It was an unforgettable few days of conference insights, knowledge sharing, and community building. We are incredibly proud to announce that Ackama won the Open Source category at the DrupalSouth Splash Awards for our work on the Drupal Security Advisories OSV project.

This award is a wonderful recognition of the team’s hard work recognising our track record contributing to Open Source.

About the OSV project and our award

The Open Source Vulnerability (OSV) database is an open-source project supported by Google, designed to provide a unified, highly searchable database for vulnerabilities across different developer ecosystems.

Our involvement with OSV began organically. Gareth Jones, an Ackama team member, was actively refining our internal security policies. Recognising that the tools he was developing could benefit the wider development community, his work evolved into an open-source contribution. That contribution grew into a formal collaboration between Ackama and the OSV project.

By bridging the gap between Drupal and the OSV ecosystem, we helped integrate Drupal’s security advisories into this global standard, making the internet a safer place for everyone.
